Now that the 2019 recruiting season is over, the focus turns to the 2020 class. Jacobian Guillory is one recruit that all eyes will be on. Guillory, 6’2”, 330lbs, is currently ranked as the #1 defensive tackle in Louisiana. His impressive work on the field has attracted the attention of programs across the SEC. While this attention is not what Jacobian expected, he is enjoying every minute of the recruiting process. “You know when I started playing foot ball in high school, I wasn’t expecting the LSU and Alabama’s of the world to be after me. Now, it seems like it all happened over night.”
Guillory currently has ten offers, with his top 5 being - LSU, Alabama, University of Texas, Texas A&M and Mississippi State. It should be noted that Jacobian promised that the list was given in no particular order. However, he does note that being from Louisiana, the fact that LSU was his first offer meant a lot to him. “It was right after the February SPE camp last year that I got a call from Coach O saying he wanted to give me an offer. That call just made me want to work even harder.”
As to when Guillory plans on announcing what school he will attend, he says “Right now, I plan on committing in May, but that might be held back to the middle of summer.”
There is no secret that defensive tackle is an area LSU needs to add depth to. Keeping Jacobian in state would be a huge win for the Tigers!
